Rosemary essential oil is a great tool to address some of the mental and physical challenges of menopause, along with everyday living. It’s one of the most stimulating essential oils and its primary uses are to:

  • Wake up the brain for greater mental clarity (who needs coffee now?!?)
  • Ease muscular aches from overwork/overexercise, and relieves arthritic pain & backache (massage)
  • Improve poor circulation – helps reduce cellulite (massage)
  • Ease breathing when you have a cold, flu or sinusitis (diffuser or steam tent) – similar effect as eucalyptus

Rosemary essential oil can also be used to normalize low blood pressure, when used regularly. It can ease headaches, and help invigorate people who are feeling lethargic, exhaused or fatigued.

Note: there are a few safety considerations when using Rosemary.

1. Rosemary has the potential to slightly increase the frequency of epileptic seizures, so it should be avoided by people who have epilepsy. Use calming oils such as sandalwood, neroli, lavender or orange instead.

2. Rosemary is not recommended for people who have high blood pressure because it is a stimulating oil.
